2014 Festival

Twenty artists have been selected from Philadelphia’s pool of nationally and internationally renowned artists and designers. These artists will reimagine an unassuming IKEA ® mirror for the Reflecting Design Silent Auction, the main attraction of our 2014 PopUp Place Kick-Off Benefit and Party. Bidding on these one-of-a-kind creations will begin online prior to PopUp Place, until then have a look through the incredible portfolios of our selected artists.

Located just 60 minutes north of Philadelphia, this 3-hour program will include a survey of the ongoing water and land management techniques being used to restore a hardwood forest to a more pristine condition including goats for woody plant management, onsite reuse of the by products of invasive species such as bamboo and strangle vines, and the protection of underground springs.

September 8, 2014 – As part of the 10th annual DesignPhiladelphia Festival, Dual Natures Interior Design is pleased to present Style Intersection: Where Street Meets Home from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2014. This immersive design experience and cocktail reception explores the intersection of public and private style—from the clothes we wear, to the art we create, to the spaces we call home. Catered by Feast Your Eyes, the event will feature light refreshments and a cash bar.

The Hatchery is the Tyler Design Incubator. It's a new Tyler Design initiative to promote entrepreneurship and transform student projects into real products. Moore College of Art & Design’s Jim Miller will moderate an insightful panel discussion with some of Philadelphia’s leading interior designers who are major forces in the field: Floss Barber, Floss Barber Inc.; Moore alumna Karen Daroff ‘70, Daroff Design Inc.; Barbara Eberlein, Eberlein Design Consultants Ltd.; Moore alumna Marguerite Rodgers '76, Marguerite Rodgers Interior Design; and Kimberly Williams, Jacobs Global Buildings Design. Following a question and answer session, the audience is invited to join us for a reception with the panelists. This is a Moore Design Forum event presented by Graduate Studies at Moore’s MFA in Interior Design program.

Face Value is a fine art exhibition by Architect Mark Khaisman, Digital Design Professor Nick Cassway, and Artist/Curator Steven Earl Weber. Utilizing technology, principles of contemporary design, and materials including packaging tape, computer cut stencils, and printed glass, these artists create internationally exhibited, critically acclaimed artwork that speaks to our perennial obsessions with pictorial representation, social dynamics, and commodification. Curated by Amie Potsic, Executive Director of Main Line Art Center, and presented in partnership with Pentimenti Gallery.
