Philly Give & Get announces BRAND-NEW PERKS, Experts, and Awards up for grabs at DESIGN Edition Charity Auction: Thursday, October 9, 2014

PHILADELPHIA, PA—Philly Give & Get announces today a slate of new perks and awards available to win at its DESIGN Edition charity “date” auction benefiting Philadelphia Wooden Boat Factory, which will take place at Johnny Brenda’s on Thursday, October 9th from 7pm-10pm. At the live auction, event attendees will bid on nine Auction Lots that include private, one-of-a-kind learning experiences with Philly-based artisan “Experts” who will teach the winner their craft and design something together.

Auction lots include:

● Design Your Own PB&J with Spruce Hill Preserves, PB&Jams, and Honeypie Cooking

● Design Your Own Podcast with The Black Tribbles and Donnie Felton

● Design Your Own Walking Tour with Austin Seraphin, Jenn Hensell, and Streets Department

● Design Your Own Wardrobe with Victrix Clothing and Made Studios

● Design Your Own River Adventure on a boat made by Philadelphia Wooden Boat Factory

...AND MORE (full list here: http://phillygiveandget.org/experiences/)

Each winner of a “date” will also go home with an array of add-on prizes donated by businesses across the city. Some of the brand-new perks include:

  • A custom dinner by chef Peter Woolsey at his new restaurant, La Peg
  •  An original work of art from Philly street artist Kid Hazo
  • A guest review spot on Philly Beer Scene, with the chance to sample up to 30 beers with local experts
  •  An assortment of titles from Quirk Books

In addition to the prizes up for grabs, Philly Give & Get is announcing the chance to earn the Most Valuable Philadelphian Award—which will go to the Expert whose auction lot raises the most funds—and the Most Charitable Philadelphian Award, which goes to the bidder who pledges the most overall to the charity recipient. Both winners will go home with trophies designed by Darla Jackson of Philadelphia Sculpture Gym. The awards are generously sponsored by SEOM Interactive.

All proceeds from Philly Give & Get’s DESIGN Edition go to its charity recipient, Philadelphia Wooden Boat Factory. The group will use the funds to upgrade equipment for its “Boat Build and Sail” apprenticeship program, which helps students learn life and work skills while teaching them to construct and sail their own boats.

Philly Give & Get donates all proceeds from its auction events to nonprofit recipients that help young people in Philadelphia grow, learn, and create great things. To date, Philly Give & Get has distributed over $15,000 to its selected charity partners.

Tickets are still available for the DESIGN Edition! Tickets are pay-what-you-will starting at $5, and can be reserved here: http://phillygiveandget.ticketleap.com/design/

The DESIGN Edition’s official sponsor is Mobilize.org, and the event is supported by Indy Hall, Johnny Brenda’s, SEOM Interactive, ICON Magazine, and TicketLeap. To view available sponsorship opportunities, please visit http://phillygiveandget.org/sponsorship-opportunities/
