Experience the new Daltile Design Studio and all it has to offer by being our guest for the evening. Learn what everyone should know about tile installations and take part in a demonstration and hands-on workshop presented by Custom Building Products.

We had the chance to catch Daltile for a short interview! Read what they have to say about the workshop and demonstration below.

1. Tell us about your event, and what attendees can expect to take away from the workshop:

The evening will consist of two parts. The first portion will be a seminar (AIA Accredited), focusing on everything you need to know about tile and installation.  It will cover the different types of tile, their characteristics and their appropriate applications. The second portion will be a demonstration focusing on glass tile and backsplash installation. Learn about the different shapes, sizes, and styles of glass tile.  The proper installation and grouting of glass will also be covered. Attendees will have the opportunity to create their own installation and take it home.

4:30-6:00pm: What Everyone Should Know About Tile Installations
Learn about different types of tile, their characteristics and appropriate applications; gain knowledge about coefficient friction requirements; acquire information about different types of grout and installation requirements. AIA CES Accredited Program

6:00-8:00pm: Glass Tile Demonstration/Workshop
Glass tile has become a popular trend. Daltile’s glass was recently showcased on both NBC’s American Dream Builders and HGTV’s Property Brothers. Participate in a demonstration and learn proper installation and design techniques. Review different types, shapes, and sizes of glass tiles; proper installation methods; what to do and what not to do; create your own installation using knowledge gained during the demonstration.

5. Can you tell us more about Dal-Tile Greenworks and your plans for the next ten years?

Greenworks is a Dal-Tile company-wide philosophy and belief that we can help create beautiful designs in ways that may also reduce environmental impact. Through a number of initiatives, we strive to contribute to the design of our customer’s sustainable projects, all without compromising their artistic vision.

Dal-Tile is aggressively pursuing a goal set forth by Mohawk Corporation to achieve a 20 percent reduction in energy, water and waste intensity by 2020. We are constantly seeking to increase the content of recycled materials used to formulate our products, including the use of post-consumer and pre-consumer recycled materials.

To further demonstrate our commitment to sustainability, Dal-Tile Corporation recently completed the extensive Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) development process for all products manufactured in the company’s North American production facilities.  With this third party validation, Dal-Tile is the first manufacturer in the ceramic tile category to voluntarily disclose cradle-to-grave impacts on all Daltile, American Olean, Marazzi USA and Ragno USA products through UL Environment certified EPDs. An EPD is a comprehensive, internationally harmonized report that documents the ways in which a product, throughout its lifecycle, affects the environment.

Dal-Tile’s EPDs, and other Greenworks related initiatives, help empower our customers to make more informed purchasing decisions, so when they consider Daltile, American Olean, Marazzi USA and Ragno products for a sustainable project, it isn’t just an easy decision – it’s one they can be sure of.
