The University of the Arts School of Design senior exhibition, Formulate, is now on view at the Center for Architecture. The exhibition features the work of graduating students from the class of 2015 in the programs of design, art + technology, graphic design, industrial design, MDes in design for social impact, and MFA in museum exhibition planning + design.
The exhibit features 16 students exploring their senior thesis projects. The projects cover a wide variety of topics and interests from redesigning everyday items such as backpacks that transform into luggage and a collapsable drum kit for easier travel to creating gear bags that attach to snowboards and a program that donates a portion of coffee sales to fund animal shelters. The students use design to enhance the quality and raise people’s awareness of design beyond function.
A reception honoring the students will be held on May 9 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The exhibition is on view through May 14 and is open to the public during regular Center for Architecture hours, Monday through Saturday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm and Sunday 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
