We asked the exhibition organizers “What does HOME mean to you?” and here’s what they had to say… What does HOME mean to you? Each person has a different answer for this seemingly simple question. We all have unique memories and definitions of home: the sight of loved ones, the smell of mom’s cookies, or the sounds of a city. Though often used to describe a location, the way we describe home reveals that home is more than a place. It’s a collection of memories we describe typically using our five senses: the sights, the sounds, the touch, and of course the tastes and smells of home. DesignPhiladelphia, the signature event of the Center for Architecture & Design and the oldest design event of its kind in the country, will return for its 12th year with approximately 100 events showcasing the work of more than 400 local and international practicing architects, designers and creative professionals from October 6-16. We invite you to explore design in both traditional and unconventional ways through DesignPhiladelphia events. This year's events highlight a wide range of design disciplines, including architecture and urban planning, as well as product, interior, furniture, multimedia, graphic and fashion design through programming ranging from exhibitions, tours, talks and workshops to open studios, demonstrations and more.
