Degrees of Design: Student Work From Local Architecture + Design Schools
Exhibitions at the Center are always FREE to visit!
Have you ever wanted to become an architect or designer? Explore the creative work happening in Philadelphia at our local architecture and design schools and discover what it takes to be a successful design student. The participating schools have chosen a selection of student work from design departments within their institutions - from architecture and interior design to product design and landscape architecture. The work on display represents the diversity of educational philosophies and teaching techniques at Philadelphia's amazing collection of design schools:
- Charter High School for Architecture + Design
- Community College of Philadelphia
- Drexel University
- Jefferson University
- Moore College of Art + Design
- Temple University
- University of Pennsylvania
The Center is excited to showcase creative thinking from next-generation architects and designers. We hope this exhibition will generate discussion among students, teachers, design professionals, and the general public about what good design is and how to educate the next generation of designers and architects - because they will shape the world we all live in tomorrow.
RECEPTION + PANEL DISCUSSION
Join us on Thursday, April 18th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM for a reception honoring the student work on display as part of this exhibition and for Degrees of: Design Education, a panel discussion on the current state and future of design education. We especially encourage curious high school students, guidance counselors, parents, and currently enrolled architecture students to attend.
