In this workshop, you'll learn about how architects reuse materials to create the buildings and structures of today, plus the importance of incorporating reused materials in the design process. Then using ingenuity and creativity, design and build your own unique building out of everyday household items that were destined for the recycle bin. What are the components of a successful city? We'll explore as a group by creating a city plan that incorporates your building. Let's put our thinking caps on and create the eco-city of tomorrow!

Instructors: Kate and Jacob Shoemaker, Ballinger Architects

Each workshop is limited to 24 children. These workshops are appropriate for children in grades 2-6. If you have children 6 years old or younger, they can enjoy our free exhibition and some unstructured build time with our hands-on maker stations at no cost - no ticket neccesary!
