Iconic tile provider Nemo Tile + Stone has recently opened up shop in Philadelphia’s Old City District, welcoming architects, interior designers, and design enthusiasts alike to specify the brand’s extensive selection of surfacing materials. We chatted with Nemo Tile + Stone’s Design Director, Katie Michael-Battaglia to learn a bit more about what the brand has geared up for the showroom.

What made you select the Old City District location?

“The Old City District is being transformed into a design destination, with prominent showrooms emerging throughout the neighborhood, which has made the location ideal for growing the Nemo Tile + Stone name in the region. Better yet, the showroom is set amongst industry compatriotes, such as Poggenpohl, providing a streamlined research and specification process for architects and interior designers.”

What can Philadelphia’s design professionals expect to see at the showroom?

“The showroom was designed thoughtfully, with all of Nemo Tile + Stone's customers in mind. This means the space was conceived to go beyond its duties of displaying the best in surfacing material but to also house events geared toward design professionals, home improvement enthusiasts, and contractors. The idea is to make the showroom a hub and home base for those who seek to elevate design in an array of spaces - from the commercial to the residential. Overall, we aim for the showroom to enhance the culture of design within the region.”

Walking into the space, what’s on display?

“The showroom displays are home to our latest collections, which include the Maison and Casablanca 2.0 Collections. Additionally, we are showcasing an exclusive line of large format porcelain panels that can be used on floors, walls & countertops. Vignettes showcasing how the collections can be applied are prominent and benefit from the space’s endless access to natural light. Offerings span tile and stone surfacing material, from ceramic to porcelain; there’s a design solution available for every project. In the same school of thought, each and every display is subject to refreshes as new collections become available to provide customers with the newest in design. We’re excited to use the Philadelphia location as a launchpad for what we have lined up for 2020.”

Mind telling us a bit about the team?

“The newly appointed team spearheading sales in Philadelphia will include Priscilla Bissi, a long-standing member of the Nemo Tile + Stone team who has relocated to the Philadelphia region, as well as Carol Meade, Emily Metro, and Rachel Salomon. We’re incredibly excited to have each team member on board and are excited to see their expertise shine.”
