Urban Wood Design Competition

Furniture design competition sourcing locally claimed wood from Philadelphia Parks & Recreation's (PPR) Fairmount Park Organic Recycling Center and held in partnership with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation (PPR) and Mayor Kenney’s Rebuild initiative.

The competition challenges designers to design and/or fabricate pool furnishings using local materials and talent to create innovative, affordable, durable furniture for use by Philadelphia residents visiting public pools.

This year's competition will focus on the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center pool, located at 2101-35 Cecil B. Moore Avenue, Philadelphia. All interested designers are encouraged to review the full competition brief and must register here in order to receive access to all information about the competition and the official submission form.
